Overview

The Boyard JVSB150Z24 1A is a hermetic DC variable-speed rotary compressor designed for 24V battery-powered refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Originally developed for parking/auxiliary A/C on commercial vehicles, it is well-suited for any application requiring compact, efficient vapor-compression cooling from a 24VDC bus — including off-grid thermal management systems, mobile climate control, and custom heat pump assemblies.

Kippkitts supplies this compressor as part of a 1 kW air-to-air heat pump assembly and offers it here as a standalone OEM component for integrators building their own refrigeration circuits.

Drive Requirements

This compressor requires a dedicated 24VDC BLDC inverter for operation — it cannot be run from a simple on/off relay or AC power source. The inverter must implement field-oriented control (FOC) or similar PMSM control strategy matched to the motor parameters above. Boyard and compatible third-party inverter drives are available; contact us for drive pairing recommendations.


Integration Notes

  • Refrigerant: R134a only. Not compatible with R290, R32, or HFO blends without requalification.
  • Oil: Pre-charged with polyol ester oil (RL68ER/RB68EP). Do not mix oil types.
  • Mounting: Three-point vibration-isolated mount using included grommets and sleeves.
  • Starting: DC inverter soft-start required; the compressor includes a thermal protector and junction box in the accessory kit.
  • Pressure ratings: Leak test at 2.9 MPa; burst pressure 10.5 MPa.
  • Electrical safety: Insulation resistance >50 MΩ at 500 VAC; withstands 2000 VAC for 1 minute.
