PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Overview

The Rectorseal NoKink (66731) is a 36-inch flexible refrigerant line connector designed to bridge the gap between a rigid in-wall copper refrigerant line and a wall-mounted mini-split evaporator unit. The hose body is flexible along its full length, with 3-inch copper stubs at each end that accept either silver-solder or flare connections — giving the installer a choice of termination method without compromising joint integrity. The copper stubs are long enough to support a standard flare tool without having to work against the flex body.

The NoKink is purpose-built for the tight-radius routing problem that occurs at the wall penetration when mounting a mini-split evaporator: the rigid copper line exiting the wall must transition to the unit's service ports, often at an acute angle and with little clearance. A rigid elbow or hand-bent copper tube at this location is prone to kinking, which collapses the bore, restricts refrigerant flow, and creates a mechanical weak point that can crack under vibration. The NoKink eliminates that failure mode entirely by making the transition section inherently flexible.

Operating pressure rating is 800 PSI, which comfortably exceeds the high-side service pressures of all mainstream refrigerants in use today, including R-410A (~400 PSI), R-32 (~550 PSI), and next-generation lower-GWP refrigerants such as R-290 and R-454B. The 1/4" bore size corresponds to the liquid line in a standard mini-split circuit. For Kippkitts 1 kW air-to-air build assemblies, this connector is the specified interface fitting at the evaporator liquid-line service port, enabling clean evaporator swap-out without having to disturb the in-wall copper run.

Integration Notes

  • Line assignment: The 1/4" size is the liquid line in a standard mini-split refrigerant circuit. The suction line (larger bore, typically 3/8" or 1/2") requires a separate NoKink in the appropriate size (Rectorseal 66733 for 3/8", 66737 for 1/2").
  • Connection choice — flare vs. silver solder: The 3" copper stubs are long enough for a standard flare tool. Flare connections are the preferred field method for serviceability; silver solder is appropriate where a permanent brazed joint is specified. Do not mix connection types at the two ends of the same fitting without confirming compatibility with your system's service and pressure-test protocol.
  • Kippkitts 1 kW air-to-air assembly: In the Kippkitts evaporator module, this NoKink is the specified liquid-line interface fitting at the evaporator service port. It allows the evaporator to be demounted from the wall bracket and swung clear without disconnecting the in-wall copper run — recovering refrigerant charge is still required, but the wall penetration does not need to be disturbed. Ensure the NoKink is routed with enough slack to allow the evaporator to reach its service position.
  • Insulation: Local mechanical codes universally require refrigerant line insulation to prevent condensation and heat gain. Insulate the full length of the NoKink with closed-cell foam pipe insulation of appropriate wall thickness for the ambient dew point in your installation environment. Insulation is not included.
  • Minimum bend radius: Do not collapse or kink the flex body during installation; the product eliminates field-induced kinking but the hose itself has a minimum bend radius. Route with smooth curves only. Avoid sharp folds or pinching under the evaporator mounting bracket.
  • Pressure testing: The 800 PSI rating supports standard nitrogen pressure-test procedures for all listed refrigerants. Follow your system OEM's specified test pressure, which will be well within this limit.
  • Sibling SKUs: 3/8" (66733), 1/2" (66737), 5/8" (66735) are available separately for suction-line applications.
